Our team is a devoted group of educators, technologists, and innovators dedicated to transforming the landscape of education through the power of Artificial Intelligence. We bring together diverse expertise to create solutions that empower learners, support educators, and advance the future of learning.

Team Members:

Professor Marcin Fojcik

Marcin Fojcik is a professor of Computer Sciences: Automation and Communication at Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL) with over 30 years of experience in Industry and Academia from two countries: Poland and Norway. In addition to teaching and research, he is active in developing pedagogical and didactical activities, especially in Science, Technology Engineering, and Math.  

He is the author of over 70 publications concerning technology and pedagogy, a member of the program committee at many conferences, of the Universities Norway (UHR MNT) Electro group, and at HVL in the R&D group and the Education committee. He is also the leader of the FIN Learning research group.

In 2021, he received (with group) the Educational Quality Award 2021 for «systematic work with educational quality, the student-centered approach, and the inclusion and activation of students in teaching and research». He also received excellent teaching practitioners (merrittert underviser) status in 2023.

Associate Professor Tove Sandvoll Vee

Tove Sandvoll Vee is an Associate Professor at the Department of Welfare and Participation at the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL). She has over 25 years of experience in higher education, with a solid background in nursing and pedagogy. Tove has developed extensive pedagogical competence through teaching, supervision, and research work.

Tove has also been an active contributor to the academic community at HVL through peer mentoring and sharing best practices. She has been involved in several research and development projects, including a DIKU project on evidence-based practice. Her work has focused on improving students’ learning experiences and promoting a scientific approach to teaching. She has been a pioneer in implementing innovative teaching methods such as flipped classroom and student-active learning. Her latest research involves evaluating use of Artificial Intelligence as a tool in marking bachelors’ theses.

Founder: Associate Professor Daisy Michelle Princeton

Daisy Princeton is an advocate for leveraging AI to enhance learning, fostering environments where students can thrive and achieve high-quality outcomes. Her extensive career under the Faculty of Health Sciences since 2005 reflects her commitment to education and research, particularly in the fields of Pedagogy/Didactic, Applied Philosophy, Leadership, Nursing, Migration, and Minority Health. Co founder: Associate Professor Tore Rokkan

Tore Rokkan is an associate professor in education and has a degree in social science (Cand.Polit) from the University of Oslo. He also has an experience-based master’s degree in management from BI Norwegian Business School. Tore has worked with research, development and teaching in the Norwegian Correctional Service since 2006, and teaches topics covering execution of sentences for crimes with electronic monitoring (EC). Tore leads R&D in pedagogy at University College of Norwegian Correctional Service (KRUS) and participates in developmental work for the use of technology in education and training. In addition to his job at KRUS, Tore is the leader of the Associate Professor/Professor(Norwegian dosent) Association, and supervises assistant professors applying for promotion to associate professor position, through supplementary courses such as LæringsarKItekt (opprykkskurs).

Advisor: Professor Helge Høivik

Helge Høivik is a Norwegian professor (dosent emeritus) of e-learning and digital documentalism at Oslo Metropolitan University. Holding degrees in statistics, social sciences, information science, and library science. He has been active in computer-assisted learning since the 1980s. Professor Høivik has initiated and led several digital education initiatives, including MOOC development and a series of Summer Schools and training programs in Norway and abroad including Finland, Hungary, China, Palestine (Gaza/The West Bank), Zimbabwe, South Africa and India. His international experience includes a Fulbright Visiting Scholarship at Penn State University’s Faculty of Education in the US and acting as a visiting professor at Capital Normal University and Hainan Normal University in China. Currently, he serves as an international advisor for the creation of the Institute of Future Learning at Yunnan Normal University in Kunming, China.

He is an elected board member of the Norwegian Dosentforeningen, an association that promotes advanced academic qualifications in Norway. In this role, he also serves as editor and developer of the association’s online resources, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing among Norwegian academics.
