DUO is an idea for a children brand. It is a concept for ages 1-5 for both genders. The thought is clothes sold from one department, rather than two. Traditionally children departments are divided in girl-boy sections, which DUO would not do. Research around gender divided clothes in todays marked, sociology, and history has been a foundation for my work. The design has soft lines, but volume for a tougher look and small discoveries in the garment. It has been important to me as a designer that the clothes are colourful, easy for children to play in and with. Playful-Comfortable-Functional are the foundation of the collection. DUO is a unisex brand, with clothes for both genders, not boys-wear available for girls. I’ve been designing for a young age to change the way we think about societies norms, and to welcome all children to be comfortable in what the wear.
