My bachelor thesis is about the concept of merging the Scandinavian- and Asian style. I’ve taken inspiration of the Scandinavian silhouettes and the clothing cultures from three countries in Asia; Vietnam, Japan and China.
During the design process I’ve looked in to the Scandinavian style and worked with the expression “less is more”, where minimalism became one of the founding pillars of this thesis.
I have selected fabrics such as silk and wool, used Asian details, that be; buttons, collars and sleeves and the concept of “scandi-style” as inspiration to create a contemporary, elegant, minimalistic, and clean women’s collection for SS 2019.
