Objectives
WP5 expands the FORWARD educational program through large-scale capacity building.
It trains students, faculty, and practitioners to use open science tools and apply urban resilience concepts in their local contexts. It also empowers local trainers to sustain training efforts and builds an active community of practice across regions.
WP5 aims to:
- Provide academic and non-academic stakeholders with knowledge and skills to apply open science principles and address urban resilience challenges.
- Empower trainers at local universities to transfer competencies within their institutions and communities.
- Conduct workshops and training modules involving students, educators, and local professionals.
- Facilitate knowledge exchange among EU institutions and partners in Palestine and Ukraine.
- Evaluate MOOC and workshop effectiveness to ensure continuous improvement.
Tasks
T5.1 — Training Plan Development
ANNU, OsloMet, and partners develop a detailed training plan for MOOC-based workshops.
The plan outlines: schedules, methodologies, train-the-trainers (ToT) material, and use of gender-sensitive modules.
T5.2 — Train-The-Trainer Workshop
A 3-day hybrid ToT workshop at POLIMI trains 18 trainers (9 Palestine, 9 Ukraine).
The workshop builds capacity for delivering MOOC modules and supporting fieldwork activities.
T5.3 — Online Stakeholder Training via MOOC
Two 4-month online training cycles for 200 participants, including students and local professionals (CMWU, GUPAP).
- 100 participants per cycle
- covers open science, FAIR, gender equity, and urban resilience case studies
- includes 1–2 months of theory + 2–3 months of fieldwork in WP6
- delivered through an e-learning platform
- participants receive e-certificates
EU students may participate. KKNU ensures gender-sensitive content.
T5.4 — Evaluation of Training Outcomes
Evaluation of MOOC effectiveness includes:
- enrolment numbers
- completion rates
- performance metrics
- demographic data
Qualitative feedback identifies improvements and training outcomes.
T5.5 — Establish a Stakeholder Network
Creation of a stakeholder network of 100 members across EU, Palestine, and Ukraine to foster long-term collaboration.
A dedicated webpage on the cloud platform provides profiles, resources, and networking space.
T5.6 — Quality Assurance of WP5
POLIMI, OsloMet, and partners conduct QA reviews of all deliverables, workshops, and training phases.
T5.7 — Dissemination of WP5 Outputs
Regular updates on website and social media channels highlight WP5 activities and results.
Deliverables
D5.1 — Comprehensive Training Plan
A training plan including schedules, methodologies, participant requirements, and ToT materials in English, Arabic, and Ukrainian.
D5.2 — Online Training Workshops Report
Final report summarizing both training cycles, participation demographics, learning outcomes, and lessons learned.
D5.3 — Digital Stakeholder Network Page
A web page on the cloud platform hosting the stakeholder network, featuring member profiles and collaboration tools.
