OsloMetDoc is now officially renamed OsloMet RISE – Researchers in Short-term Engagement.
What started as a PhD-focused forum has grown. Today, we represent not only PhD candidates, but also postdoctoral researchers and other researchers in temporary academic positions at OsloMet.
Over the past two years, the organization had limited activity and gradually became dormant. This created a gap in representation and collective engagement for temporary researchers at OsloMet.
Now, with fresh energy and a newly established interim board with all-new faces, supported by Pro-Rector for Research Tanja Storsul, we are restarting our work with a strong sense of commitment.
The transition to RISE reflects a broader mandate and a clearer purpose. Temporary researchers share many structural challenges — from working conditions and career pathways to well-being and institutional inclusion. Bringing these groups together under one organization strengthens our collective voice and long-term impact.
There is important work ahead. We are committed to rebuilding momentum, strengthening representation, and creating meaningful arenas for dialogue and community.
This is not only a name change — it is a restart — a RISE!
