Stakeholders discussed the French approach to RRI

CEA hosted the French national RRI-Practice workshop on its Saclay campus on February 24th, gathering 16 representatives from research organizations, universities, NGOs, and public administration. Each speaker presented their organization’s RRI activities along one or more RRI keys (ethics, education, public engagement, open access, and gender). The discussion focused on concrete examples and benchmarks, working toward a set of best practices and barriers to be shared with the European and international partners. Even if the concept of RRI was not sufficiently known to many French stakeholders, the workshop showed that a lot of practical initiatives corresponding to the RRI keys have existed for a long time. We now aim at sharing such good practices in order to help the French stakeholders to follow more closely the global RRI approach.
