A series of public events will accompany the launch of a new book: International Handbook on Responsible Innovation. A global Resource.
The Handbook constitutes a global resource for the fast growing interdisciplinary research and policy communities addressing the challenge of driving innovation towards socially desirable outcomes. It brings together well-known authors from the US, Europe and Asia who develop conceptual and regional perspectives on responsible innovation as well as exploring the prospects for further implementation of responsible innovation in emerging technological practices ranging from agriculture and medicine, to nanotechnology and robotics. The book was edited by René von Schomberg (Directorate General for Research and Innovation, European Commission and Guest Professor at Technical University Darmstadt, Germany) and Jonathan Hankins (The Bassetti Foundation, Italy). Dr. von Schomberg is member of RRI-Practice Advisory Board.
For now, three events are fully planned (Leiden, London and Brussels), but additional events will take place later in the year in Manchester, Milan and Washington DC. Notable speakers will discuss the challenges ahead regarding the further development and implementation of responsible innovation. The agenda for the first three events with guest lectures and panels can be seen in the attached file. Participation on these events is free but because of limited available seating, prior registration is necessary (see attached file).
