We are happy to announce that we will be hosting the Global Fact 9 conference in June 2022! Global Fact is an annual conference hosted and organized by the International Fact-Checking Network. The first conference was held in London in 2014, and the conference has since grown and become the place to gather and discuss the practice of fact-checking.
The conference will be held at Oslo Metropolitan University on June 22-25, 2022, following the digital Global Fact 8 conference on October 21-23, 2021.
Global Fact 9 will be the first Global Fact conference held in-person, after two years of digital conferences, due to the current COVID-19 pandemic.
The conference is organized by the International Fact-Checking Network in partnership with the Norwegian fact-checking organization Faktisk.no, Oslo Metropolitan University, The Norwegian Institute of Journalism the knowledge and resource center for media practitioners, and SKUP, the foundation for investigative and critical journalism.
SCAM in charge of the academic track at Global Fact 9
The Global Fact 9 will run four tracks; the Academic Track, Editorial Track, Developers Track and Executive Track. The SCAM research team at OsloMet will be in charge of the Academic Track, which we are all very excited about.
The academic track will have presentations by scholars on misinformation, online trust, information integrity and related topics. A call for papers will be announced before the conference. Make sure to save the date. We are looking forward to see you!
