To kick off the project, we organized a one-day workshop on “Firms and Economic Development” last August 4, 2025 in Manila, Philippines.

Our partner institution, Ateneo de Manila University, hosted the workshop at Faber Hall, Loyola Heights campus.

The workshop featured keynote talks from Professor Toshihiro Okubo (Keio University) and Professor Heiwai Tang (Hong Kong University, Business School).

In addition, there were presentations by scholars from the World Bank, Central Bank of the Philippines (Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas), Seoul National University, the University of the Philippines, and Ateneo de Manila University.
