Digital empowerment in teacher education and schools
WP 5 raises the question: How can findings from the project’s thematic areas be synthesized to develop an evidence-based model for digital empowerment in Nordic schools and teacher education?
WP5 will compare, analyse and integrate the evidence-based practices and models developed across WP 1-4, synthesise their contribution towards the development of students’ digital empowerment and use these findings to contribute to the current insights on digital empowerment. WP5 is key to achieving synergy between the WPs in the project, in collaboration with schools, teacher education, and stakeholders. WP5 will research and engage with partners to discuss the implications of the findings and provide the basis for the model and recommendations that supports future implementation of tools, methods, and evidence-based practices for schools and teacher education. Additionally, the work package will draw on synergies from the Nordic collaboration to produce international scholarly work on strategies for fostering digital empowerment, relevant to the Nordic context. WP5 will draw on a qualitative meta-synthesis analysis approach (Finlayson & Dixon, 2008) and the Delphi method (Linstone & Turoff, 1975). WP5 synthesizes the thematic areas of the project into a model representing a cohesive whole. The Delphi-inspired process will rely on an expert panel that includes experts (the AB), practitioners, and stakeholders. This process will be supplemented by a qualitative meta-synthesis of the teaching materials, publications, and reports generated throughout the project. The approach ensures that the developed new educational strategies for schools, teacher education, stakeholders, and policymakers are robust, relevant and sustainable.
WP 5 is led by Mads Middelboe Rehder (KP), and co-led by Kalle Juuti (UoH) and Louise Mifsud (OsloMet)
