NFEAP 2026 Call for Papers

We are pleased to announce the 18th annual NFEAP summer conference, which will take place on Thursday the 11th and Friday the 12th of June 2025 at OsloMet – Oslo Metropolitan University, Oslo, Norway.

The theme for the 2026 conference is EAP and Mythologies

NFEAP this year is a chance to think about the many mythologies of EAP, academic writing, higher education pedagogy and the idea of a university itself. We could think about at least two dimensions of myth – first the idea of transcendence, an act or event that takes us to a reality deeper or more numinous than the everyday; and against that, the story or idea that is pernicious but durable, misleading but stubborn. Sometimes we need to make myths; sometimes we need to bust myths.

What are the myths in higher education that help us, that take us to other dimensions of thinking, that permit us to see or reconfigure realities? And by contrast, what are the myths that hinder both academics and students, writers of all kinds, myths that foreclose academic development and thinking? How might an HEI be made of myths both good and bad?

We welcome work that tackles any kind of myth making or myth busting, in relation to EAP theory and practice. We invite proposals that explore EAP concepts; EAP training methods, principles, practices and research; AI; technology and technology-enhanced learning; syllabus and materials design, teaching strategies and methodological issues; group/interdisciplinary teaching; critical EAP; academic identities; academic literacies; any other relevant topics.
