EAP and Positioning

June 8th and 9th

The theme for the 2017 conference is EAP and Positioning. The conference understands positioning broadly to allow for a rich examination for the many ways this concept relates to EAP theory and practice.

Presentations address topics such as rhetorical and argumentative position in writing, speaking and reading; the place and space of EAP in contemporary higher education; the positioning of students and student identities; different disciplinary approaches to positioning; the development and positioning of professional identities; and agency, power and empowerment in teaching, learning and research practices.
