Keynotes and speakers in Oslo 2022
Robert MacDonald is currently Professor of Education and Social Justice at the University of Huddersfield, UK. He is also Visiting Professor at: the Department of Sociology, Monash University; the Danish Centre for Youth Research, Aalborg University; the School of Policy Studies, Bristol University; and the Department of Sociology and Social Policy, Nottingham University. He previously worked and studied at the universities of Durham and York, and was Professor of Sociology at Teesside University from 2002-2017, where he worked with colleagues to develop the internationally renowned Teesside Studies of Youth Transitions and Social Exclusion. He is Editor in Chief (joint) of the world-leading Journal of Youth Studies. Read more.
Jeanette Østergaard is a Senior Researcher at The Danish Center Social Science Research. Her research focuses on quantitative and qualitative longitudinal studies of young people’s risk behavior, everyday life and transition to adulthood. She has extensive experience of conducting large-scale national and cross-national longitudinal research projects, applying innovative methods, such as mobile surveys, photo elicitation, music – and objects-based methods. Her most recent research project (w. Professor Rachel Thomson) is called: ‘Open-ended transition? A qualitative longitudinal study of continuity and change for young people in uncertain times’. She is also the co-editor of the journal YOUNG. Read more.
Willy Pedersen is a professor at the Department of Sociology and Human Geography at the University of Oslo. His academic interests include Sociology about deviance, marginalization and culture. His empirical Projects involve Projects about youth, alcohol, drugs and sexuality. Read more.
