RISE is the interest organisation for PhD candidates, postdocs and other researchers in temporary positions at OsloMet. RISE represents its members at the university level on matters related to research, education, working conditions and social wellbeing.
Following the election of the new RISE Executive Board for 2026–27, we are now expanding representation through the RISE Representative Council.
What is the Representative Council? 🗣️
The council brings together representatives from each PhD program, postdocs, and other researchers in temporary positions at OsloMet, creating a direct link between PhD candidates/postdocs/temporary researchers across the university and the RISE Executive Board.
Each PhD programme needs to have:
- One PhD representative
- One deputy representative
All postdocs and temporary researchers may have 1-2 representatives from their respective groups.
Why get involved? 🌱
As a programme representative, you can:
- Bring perspectives and concerns from PhD candidates in your programme/ postdocs to RISE
- Help strengthen communication between PhD programmes/postdocs and the RISE Executive Board
- Contribute to university-wide discussions affecting PhD candidates/postdocs
- Gain experience in representation and organisational work
