Task Groups

Task groups are how OsloMet RISE deals with issues that need dedicated attention beyond regular board meetings. By handing specific work to a small group, RISE can make focused, accountable progress on important priorities without overloading the board.

Each task group is formally proposed and accepted at a board meeting. It has two to four members, works within a defined time frame, and is led by a designated contact who coordinates the work and reports back to the board. When its mandate is complete, a task group is dissolved unless the board decides otherwise. Findings from completed groups feed directly into board decisions and into RISE’s governance and member-support priorities.

Four task groups were established between March and September 2026:

  • Task Group 1: Statutes Revision (completed, March–April 2026)
  • Task Group 2: Working Environment of External PhD Candidates (completed, March–May 2026)
  • Task Group 3: Mental Health and Wellbeing of PhD Candidates (completed, March–September 2026)
  • Task Group 4: Mapping Democratic Bodies at the University (completed, March–September 2026)
