Purpose and mandate
Task Group 3 was set up to examine and address mental health and wellbeing among PhD candidates at OsloMet. Its mandate was to identify common stressors and wellbeing challenges, review existing support structures and gaps in current provision, and propose initiatives, advocacy points or collaborations. The mandate ran over seven months, with a deadline of 20 September 2026, and the group worked in line with institutional policies and support services.
Work carried out
The group gathered information from several sources: publicly available material on OsloMet’s websites, institutional reports, and existing surveys that partly cover mental health and wellbeing among PhD candidates and temporary employees. It also surveyed PhD programme leaders to understand the formal and informal support structures around PhD candidates.
