Survey Completed in March – April 2022

A Norwegian nationwide web-based survey, investigating employees’ experiences on combining work and care for older parents, was completed in March – April 2022. Altogether 6049 people in the age group 35-67 years, having one or both parents alive, responded to the questionnaire. KANTAR AS performed, on behalf of Norwegian Social Research, Oslo Metropolitan University, the data collection on its Gallup Panel consisting of 40,000 people who have agreed to respond to surveys.

The Gallup Panel has been put together to be representative for the entire Norwegian population (15 years and older). The panel has been recruited mainly by country-representative CATI surveys. The panel maintains a very high standard and is among the few in Europe certified according to ISO 26362:2009: «Access panels in market, opinion and social research – Vocabulary and service requirements». The operation of the Gallup Panel and data processing is reported to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority.

The target group for the current study is the age group 35 – 67 years, having one or both parents alive. KANTAR sent a questionnaire to 14 427 people in the target group. A total of 6049 completed the questionnaire, giving a response rate of 42%.
