Activities

The primary focus of this pilot project has been to gather qualitative data from OsloMet’s employees and students. The SPARC team has designed and hosted varous workshops to test different methodologies for collaborative practices, where multiple stakeholders participate and interact.

Imaginary hubs with CEMUS

A diverse OsloMet delegation visited Uppsala University to find inspiration on how they, as a Univeristy, work with sustainability at various levels of the organization. The main purpose of the trip was to visit the interdisciplinary and student-initiated Centre for Environmental and Development Studies (CEMUS). SPARC facilitated a workshop where researchers, professors and student assistants from both universities, as well as OsloMet’s pro-rector, and senior advisors, attended to discuss an “imaginary hub”.

Storbykonferansen 2023

In collaboration with the Storbykonferansen 2023, the Urban Research Conference, SPARC organized a pre-conference, an event that was driven by OsloMet’s students and teachers. Additionally, SPARC played a key role in the conference’s interactive Keynote, which ended off the conference.

Research-ship

This workshop was organized in collaboration with the Philosophy of Science and Design Research course, as a part of Product Design – Design in Complexity program at OsloMet. The workshop was designed as a kick-off event for further collaboration between the students and researchers, intending to support students during their academic course. The workshop aimed to promote possible collaborations between researchers and students which could be beneficial for both parties.

Sustainability workshop

This workshop was intended for OsloMet’s students and presented the participants with three different exercises, all focusing on sustainability. The aim of the workshop was not only to generate relevant data about OsloMet’s students’ perspectives on sustainability, but to test how the participants engaged with the presented methodology. This workshop generated relevant data about sustainability, while also providing a joyful atmosphere for the participants.
