In the article, we compare the experiences of Philippine and Swedish nurses who have come to work in Norway. As we had expected, their experiences did reflect the considerable differences between the conditions shaping their migration. Our emphasis in this article is not on such differences, however. Instead, we identify and highlight the ways in which their lives are similar.
