Short Project Description

The BACK Bank is a user-initiated project developed in close collaboration between the Norwegian Spine and Back Pain Association and CIM. The project aimed to establish a digital information bank to enhance confidence, support informed health decisions, and reduce unnecessary healthcare utilization among people with back pain across the lifespan.

Input on relevant topics was collected through online surveys targeting both users and healthcare professionals. The suggestions were systematized, ranked, and reviewed by the project’s steering committee. Ten topics were selected based on ranking results and thematic coverage across life stages, and concise, evidence-based texts were developed for each. The final topics addressed causes, prognosis, prevention, treatment, self-management, and common misconceptions related to back health.

The BACK Bank was be published in October 2025 on the Norwegian Spine and Back Pain Association’s website. The project exemplifies a collaborative, user-driven project to create an accessible, evidence-based resource that aims to promote informed decision-making and more sustainable use of healthcare services.
