Tesfaye is working as an associate professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences at Oslo Metropolitan University. He completed his bachelor’s degree in nursing in 2008, and his master’s degree in international health with a specialization in health system at Bergen University in 2010. Tesfaye worked as registered nurse both in primary and specialized health care from 2008-2017. In March 2017, he completed his PhD “Revision Knee Arthroplasty in Norway 1994-2011. A register-based study with focus on implant survival, pain relief, functional outcome, patient satisfaction, health related quality of life, and causes and risk of re-revision” at institute for clinical medicine, the Faculty of Medicine at Bergen University. Tesfaye has more than 10 years of experience in joint arthroplasty register research (epidemiological and register-based randomised controlled trials), in particular knee arthroplasty. Currently, he is the PI of ‘ALBA Trial’, one of the largest nationwide register-based randomized control trial in Norway.
