Paper presentation ESA Conference in Manchester 20-23th August 2019
Heidi Gautun gave a presentation of the paper “Older Patients Discharged from Hospital to Community Care- Hospital Nurses and Community Nurses` Experiences of the Quality of Transition”, at The European Sociological Conference (ESA) 20-23th August 2019 in Manchester. The paper is written in a collaboration with Jenny Billings, Kent University and Christopher Bratt, Kent University. Analysing large-scale quantitative data, the researchers provide new knowledge on how nurses at hospitals and in communities (nursing homes and home nursing) experience the quality of older patients’ transitions. The researchers investigate discrepancies between views among nurses in hospitals and community services, and between nurses in nursing homes and home nursing, and conclude by recommending measures to improve care transitions
