Conference: Digital Pasts, Presents, and Futures: Human Consequences

Oslo, August 24-25, 2026. The Norwegian Research School on Digitalization, Culture and Society (DIGIT), hosted by CEDIC, OsloMet, invites researchers, doctoral candidates, practitioners, and policymakers to join the international conference Digital Pasts, Presents, and Futures: Human Consequences.

The conference brings together scholars from Science and Technology Studies (STS), digital humanities, and the social sciences to explore how digital technologies shape, and are shaped by, society. Across keynote lectures, panel discussions, and paper sessions, participants will engage with questions related to artificial intelligence, governance, democracy, education, care, identities, families, datafication, and everyday life.

The programme features keynote speakers Professor Sally Wyatt (Maastricht University), Hans Christian Holte (AI Norway), and Professor Jeanette Pols (University of Amsterdam), as well as contributions from researchers across Norway and internationally.
