New platform for photojournalists
A new digital platform for photojournalists was launched 24 June 2021: https://www.photojournalistplatform.com
The platform is a pilot project – a new cooperation between the old partners Pathshala South Asian Media Institute in Bangladesh, photo.circle in Nepal and JMIC at OsloMet.
The proposal came from former Pathshala principal Abir Abdullah during a safety training last autumn. The aim of the platform is to help young photojournalists to survive economically and in other ways during the pandemic:
“The platform envisions a common ground for photojournalists to learn and grow together. By organizing various targeted professional development workshops, mentorship programs, accumulating useful resources, and online exhibitions this platform will actively serve the photojournalism community with a vision to build a strong and sustainable future.” https://www.photojournalistplatform.com/about
The platform was launched before the webinar Mental Well-being during COVID-19 pandemic led by Safina Binte Enayet in the organization Moner Bondhu in Bangladesh.
The webinar was attended by more than 20 participants – and will be followed up by other webinars in the coming months. https://www.photojournalistplatform.com/workshops-fellowships
