
The conference for the International Association for Women in Radio and Television (IAWRT) took place in the Philippines this year. The organizers´ intention was to initiate dialogue between local organizations and movements which are women-led or involve substantial female participation, and women in media from all over the world. Three MEKK-members, Heidi Røsok-Dahl, Marte Høiby and Kristin Skare Orgeret participated at the conference. Høiby presented research findings, where as Orgeret led a session on the organization´s future


International Association for Women in Radio and Television (IAWRT) is a global organization formed by professional women from 57 different countries, working in electronic and allied media with a mission to strengthen initiatives towards ensuring that women’s views and values are integral part of programming and to advance the impact of women in media. This year´s topic was “Social Justice: Women in the Media on Conflict and Crisis.” Orgeret and Røsok-Dahl sits on the IAWRT´s Norwegian board.
