In December, Professor Kristin Skare Orgeret conducted a one-week Training of Trainers Security and Equity course in cooperation with NJ (Norsk Journalistlag) and IFJ (International Federation of Journalists), in Dakar, Senegal. The participants were French-speaking women journalists from Mali, Guinée, Burkina Faso, Côté d’Ivoire, Benin, Togo and Senegal. The training focuses on journalists’ security both at their work places as well as when on mission in the field. Issues of security and equity, sexual harassment, terrorism, corruption and violence constitute important parts of the course.
