The authors discuss how the nationalist Hindu ideology, which combines authoritarian patriotism with harsh economic liberalization will be decisive to the fate of the secular state.

Based on meetings and interviews with a wide range of people the authors provide a comprehensive approach to the multifaceted nation of India. They show how this diversity increasingly is threatened by Hindu activists with links all the way to the government level.

On the MEKK meeting the 28th of March, Elisabeth presented the book and initiated a discussion on Hindu nationalism and the role of the media.

Recently the news that the book has been bought by the Norwegian Ministry of Culture (innkjøpsordningen for sakprosa). Congratulations!
