
DD-MAC conference in Utrecht
On January 23-24, 2025, the DD-MAC Research network hosted a conference at the University of Utrecht, presenning key achievements of the project and exploring potential future directions.
The conference commenced with an opening address by Vice Dean Sven Dupré from the Faculty of Humanities at Utrecht University, followed by the opening keynote speech delivered by Dr. Ansgard Heinrich from the University of Groningen. The event featured a diverse array of panels and discussions covering topics such as Conflict Journalism, Digital Authoritarianism, Digital Media Narratives, and the Challenges and Opportunities in Interdisciplinary Research.
The conference concluded with a closing keynote by Dr. Emma Heywood from the University of Sheffield. The intensive program also included the launch of the book Ecologies of Global Risk Journalism (Routledge).
