U-YouPa researchers have attended two online media research conferences: NordMedia, arranged in August, and ECREA, in September 2021. We presented and discussed research on how responses in an online blog elicited by two different scenes from a popular youth series, SKAM (https://tv.nrk.no/serie/skam), demonstrate agonistic (conflictual) deliberation and media literacy in digital dialogue spaces. Our presented study includes an analysis of the rhetorical characteristics of the dialogues; a mapping of key themes that characterize reactions of blog commentators in the online discussions; and a discussion of the characteristics of – and degree of deliberation in – online comments.
