- Information meeting of the project with the resident of the Red Cross reception center
At the beginning of December, we invited the residents of the Red Cross reception center to participate in an information meeting about the Food2Gather project. The aim of this meeting was to inform people about the progress of the research. In addition, the team also used this opportunity to propose to the center’s residents to create a dynamic and collaborative Food2Gather team. It will be composed of researchers, professionals and residents, whose objective would be to reflect and experiment different actions to improve the food and reception conditions of the residents at the reception center. This idea was rather encouraged by the residents who really want to change the food model of the institution.

Début décembre, nous avons invité les résidents du centre d’accueil de la Croix-Rouge à assister à la réunion d’information concernant le projet Food2Gather. Cette réunion avait pour objectif d’informer les personnes sur les avancées de la recherche. Par ailleurs, l’équipe a profité de ces échanges pour proposer aux résidents du centre de monter une équipe Food2Gather, dynamique et collaborative, composée des chercheuses, des professionnels et des résidents, qui aurait pour objectif de réfléchir et d’expérimenter différentes actions au centre d’accueil afin d’améliorer les conditions alimentaires et les conditions d’accueil des résidents. Cette idée a été plutôt encouragée par les résidents qui souhaitent véritablement changé le modèle alimentaire du centre.
2. Meeting with the teacher of the elementary school
November 12, 2020 was an opportunity to discuss with elementary school teachers (partner of the project) the progress of research and future pilot actions that will be organized. Our presentation was also an opportunity to exchange with teachers from their own perceptions of food at school. Five classes are volunteers to organize some activities related to food with the children. After the Christmas’ holiday, the research team, in collaboration with the students of the second year of the Master in Anthropology of the University of Liege, will go to the volunteer classes to explain anthropology, and to start the first reflections with the children around food.

Le 12 Novembre 2020 fût l’occasion de discuter avec les enseignants de l’école primaire (partenaire du projet) des avancées de la recherche et des futurs actions pilotes qui seront organisées. Notre présentation fût l’occasion d’échanger également avec les enseignants à partir de leurs propres perceptions de l’alimentation à l’école. Cinq classes sont volontaires pour mettre en place des activités autour de l’alimentation avec les enfants. Après les vacances scolaires, l’équipe de chercheuse, en collaboration avec les étudiants de deuxième année de Master en Anthropologie de l’Université de Liège se rendront dans les classes pour expliquer l’anthropologie, et débuter les premières réflexions avec les enfants autour de l’alimentation.
