Editor in the Philippines risks six years in prison
Maria Ressa (56), editor of news site Rappler since 2012 was found guilty of libel yesterday, and may face up to six years in prison.
She has been one of the few editors to openly criticize President Duterte and his brutal war on drugs, where thousands have been killed. The verdict has been appealed.
Ressa and her colleague are released on bail. Before 2012, Ressa worked many years for CNN. The verdict is seen as an attack on press freedom and independent journalism in the Philippines.More on
