The International Storytelling Program
The International Storytelling Program, with students from Nepal, Bangladesh and Norway, met again online on March 22 for a week long digital editing workshop.
Photographer and teacher from Bangladesh, currently based in Berlin, Munem Wasif , was in charge of the mentoring. He gave introduction lectures about the process of editing and introduced the students from Nepal, Bangladesh and Norway to different tools and views on editing photo stories.
Magnum photographer Sohrab Hura and photo editor Monica Allende also gave talks to the participants. Sohrab Hura has photographed and self-published numerous books and shared generously about his struggles and processes in the making and presentation of his stories.
The participants spent a lot of time editing their final stories from their individual field work. Many of the Zoom sessions this week were spent in small groups where the students edited each others stories.
The workshop ended Monday March 29 with a final presentation online with all the edits of 16 different stories. In the coming weeks the stories will be set and designed for a book, exhibition and a website. The participants have landed an overall title for the projects: “Among others”.
