Restrictive or selective?

In September 2021, Anne published an article in the Norwegian journal Nytt Norsk Tidsskrift called «Restrictive or selective? The different faces of Immigration policy».

In the article, she argues that Norwegian immigration policy is increasingly selective, not only restrictive: asylum and family migration are both restricted, while non-EEA labor migration is facilitated. She shows how Norway is part of an international race for talent and a race to the bottom on asylum. The article examines policy development and the decoupling of labor migration policy at different levels. It ends with a discussion of normative implications.

The article can be found here (idunn.no; in Norwegian).

On the occasion of the article being published, Anne was also interviewed by Utrop.no, Norway’s multicultural online paper. The interview, which recaps the findings of the article, can be found here (utrop.no, in Norwegian).
