ABOUT

Olena Tymoshenko, a Ukrainian mathematician and researcher, focuses on topics such as the asymptotic behavior of solutions of stochastic differential equations. She also explores modeling disease transmission, which extensively utilizes stochastic differential equations, and optimal control problems of systems with state dynamics governed by stochastic partial differential equations driven by a two-parameter Brownian motion.

She is also interested in developing innovative tools, like step-by-step tests, to improve students’ learning outcomes in mathematical disciplines. She studies and analyzes these tools to enhance their effectiveness in mathematical education, enabling students to develop and apply problem-solving skills comprehensively.

Olena also popularizes mathematics among school and university students, organizes student Olympiads in mathematics at the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute,” international mathematician conferences, and Ukrainian-Norwegian mathematical summer and winter schools.

RESEARCH INTERESTS

Random processes, Stochastic differential equations, Asymptotic behaviour of solutions of stochastic differential equations, Applications of stochastic analysis with emphasis on mathematical finance, Information technology in teaching and knowledge control.
