At this breakfast meeting Janet Boddy will speak about what we can learn from young adults with experience of public care. Her presentation will be based on her new book, Thinking Through Family: Narratives of Care Experienced Lives, and will involve talking about the complexity of family and understanding the continuing significance of supporting complex family relationships into adulthood.
Janet Boddy is Deputy Head of the School of Education and Social Work, and is an Adjunct Professor in the Childhood, Family and Welfare Division of NOVA at OsloMet University, where she co-convenes the Family Research Network. Janet’s research is concerned with family lives and with services for children and families, in the UK and internationally. She also has a long-standing interest in methodology, particularly in relation to complex evaluation, qualitative, longitudinal and narrative approaches, cross-national research, and research ethics and governance.
