UKRAINETT og OsloMet arrangerte 31. oktober 2025 et seminar om ukrainsk økonomi og norsk-ukrainsk økonomisk samarbeid. Seminaret ble ledet av Kristian Åtland, sjefsforsker ved Forsvarets forskningsinstitutt (FFI) og styremedlem i UKRAINETT. Det inneholdt presentasjoner fra Julie Helseth Udal, forsker ved FFI, og Kjartan Svaland Tveitnes, daglig leder i Norsk-Ukrainsk Handelskammer.
Living on the Edge: Ukraine, Overcoming Empire and Cultural Entanglements
As part of the annual UKRAINETT+ conference “The War and Beyond: Perspectives on Ukrainian Culture and Society” (Bergen, 14–15 October 2025), Uilleam Blacker delivered a public keynote addressing Ukraine’s complex history, not only as a source of hardship, but as a catalyst for invention, experimentation, resilience, and creative, sometimes confrontational, engagement with the many cultures that have intersected on Ukrainian territory, as well as with global culture more broadly.
Culture Bridges in Europe and Ukrainian Literature During Wartime: Identity, Resistance, and Cultural Dialogue
As part of the annual UKRAINETT+ conference “The War and Beyond: Perspectives on Ukrainian Culture and Society” (Bergen, 14–15 October 2025), Bohdana Neborak delivered a public keynote exploring how Ukrainian literature during the ongoing war has become a vital lens for understanding Ukrainian identity and the dynamics of resistance to Russian aggression. Both within Ukraine and internationally, literature provides a space for dialogue and reflection on contemporary realities.
How (Not) to Study a War-Affected Society: Challenges of Knowledge Production in Ukraine and Elsewhere
On 10 April 2025, UKRAINETT held a seminar featuring Oksana Mikheieva from the Ukrainian Catholic University. In this presentation, Oksana Mikheieva talked about her own experience of conducting research during the war, the specifics of knowledge production in war-affected societies, as well as the possible ethical and methodological challenges faced by researchers.
Ukraine’s Thorny Path to the EU: From “Integration without Membership” to “Integration through War”
On 7 February 2025, UKRAINETT held a hybrid seminar featuring Associate Professor Anne Pintsch, Post-Doctoral Researcher Maryna Rabinovych, and Attorney-at-law and Senior Lecturer Nataliya Haletska. They discussed their newly released book, Ukraine’s Thorny Path to the EU: From “Integration without Membership” to “Integration through War”.
Recent developments in the war in Ukraine: Different perspectives and prospects
On 21 June 2024, UKRAINETT held a digital seminar with Head of the Hybrid Warfare Analytical Group at the Ukraine Crisis Media Center in Kyiv, Volodymyr Solovian and Senior Research Fellow at the Norwegian Defense Research Establishment, Tor Bukkvoll. The seminar discussed military and political aspects of the developments in the war in Ukraine including assessments of both the Ukrainian and the Russian side.

IMDi launched the report “Settlement, Integration, and Employment under a Temporary Perspective – Experiences and Perceptions of Ukrainian Refugees and Municipal Refugee Services” at Deichman Bjørvika on 15 January, 2025. The report was conducted by the Norwegian Institute for Urban and Regional Research (NIBR) at OsloMet.
