ABOUT
Fabian Stigar’s research interests include sea power, naval geostrategy, and the protection of critical maritime infrastructure, with a particular focus on the maritime dimensions of the Russo‑Ukrainian war in the Black Sea. He currently works on projects covering Ukraine’s ongoing sea-denial efforts and critical maritime infrastructure protection, including the creation of an event-based dataset of naval engagements in the conflict. Fabian is a member of the multidisciplinary Norwegian–Ukrainian research project Black Sea Battle Lab, which aims to generate operationally relevant insights on maritime security challenges through joint data collection, analysis, and publication.
