
ABOUT
Arve Hansen has studied linguistics in Belarus and has a PhD in East Slavic area studies from UiT – The Arctic University of Tromsø. He has researched urbanism, mass protest and culture of opposition in Ukraine, Belarus and Russia, as well as the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian conflict since 2013. Hansen has also worked for the Norwegian MFA in Kyiv and Murmansk, and done field work in Ukraine over a period of several years. He speaks Ukrainian and Russian fluently.
