HROMADA – Nordic-Baltic knowledge-based input network to the rebuilding of Ukraine is a network comprising researchers based at universities, research institutions and think tanks in the Baltic and the Nordic countries with a specific expertise on Ukraine to contribute to the country’s rebuilding and sustainable development.
The network provides a platform for cooperation and exchange, with a particular focus on producing and disseminating policy-relevant knowledge to decision-makers from the municipal level to the Nordic Council of Ministers, Nordic Council and Baltic Assembly. It consists of several thematic working groups, addressing possible solutions to concrete challenges. HROMADA is supported by NordForsk / the Nordic Council of Ministers.
UKRAINETT members were well represented at the conference. On the photo is HROMADA’s leader, Anne Pintsch, from the University of Agder.
The conference in Oslo was the first meeting of the network. Together with HROMADA researchers we invited politicians and decision makers, representatives from business and civil society from Nordic and Baltic countries and Ukraine to discuss topics of importance for the future of Ukraine: e.g. Ukraine’s sustainable development, integration of refugees in Nordic and Baltic countries, and how to secure justice around war crimes. At separate workshops in the HROMADA working groups, the members of the network had a chance to present and discuss their research and research projects with each other.
