ABOUT
Oleksandra Hrebenshchykova is a linguist and language educator whose work focuses on multilingualism, linguistic identity, and language integration in Ukrainian contexts. She holds a PhD (Candidate of Sciences) in Philology from Karazin Kharkiv National University and a Master’s degree in Ukrainian language and literature from Luhansk National University. Her professional background includes extensive teaching experience in both school and university settings: she worked as a school teacher of language and literature in Kharkiv and later taught Ukrainian and Russian to international students at Karazin Kharkiv National University.
Since September 2023, she has been a researcher at UiT – The Arctic University of Norway. Her research addresses language choice, linguistic identity, and multilingual practices in situations of war, migration, and social change (Language at War project); multilingual language acquisition and attrition, especially among children and adolescents (AcqCESS, Multilingual Minds, MOVA projects); and the linguistic integration of Ukrainian refugees across different national contexts (LINC project).
