ABOUT

Oleksandra Hrybenko is a member of a Media, War, and Conflict (MEKK) Research Group at OsloMet. She is researching the safety of women journalists reporting on the war in Ukraine. Previously she worked with human rights and media freedom as a Junior Officer at the OSCE headquarters in Vienna, Austria, and the field mission in Chisinau, Moldova. Between 2014 and 2018, Oleksandra worked as a journalist and field producer (fixer) for international media reporting on the war in Ukraine. Has a Joint Master’s Degree in Journalism from Aarhus University and Hamburg University. She wrote her MA thesis on the strategic narratives in the Russian media portrayal of the war in Ukraine.

hybrid warfare, strategic communication, journalism, safety of journalists, Ukraine.
