Earlier advertisements on Facebook and Twitter gave an overwhelming response from women of majority background. Now we need more women of minority backgrounds.
We welcome both participants who are born in Norway to immigrant parents and women who are immigrants themselves. Participants should have their origins in non-western countries and regions such as Turkey, Iran, the Middle East, the Balkans, North Africa, Somalia, Eritrea, the Gambia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, India and Sri Lanka.
We seek women who have been exposed to violence from a male partner of the same origin, including women who also have been abused by any of their in-laws.
The violence and abuse may be psychological or physical, including sexual violence. We wish to interview women who have experienced violence over some time (not as a single event). We also want to get in touch with women with any of the following experience:
- The man was married to two or more women at the same time (e.g. in one religious marriage and one civil/registered marriage) against the woman’s knowledge and/or will (involuntary polygamy)
- The man/her in-laws denied or prevented her in getting a divorce, as part of a pattern of abuse and exploitation
- The man/her in-laws threatened to send or actually sent her to her country of origin against her will as part of a pattern of abuse and exploitation
Do you want to participate in an interview, or do you need more information? Please contact one of us:
