UKRAINETT Members participated in Nordic Ukrainian Advocacy Summit 2024

Aadne Aasland, Oleksandra Deineko and Nataliya Yeremeyeva attended the Nordic Ukrainian Advocacy Summit 2024: Accelerating Ukraine’s Victory, held in Helsinki on June 14-15, 2024.

The main aim of this forum was to strengthen international cooperation and institutional capacity of Ukrainian CSOs in the Nordic and Baltic states. The summit included expert panels, workshops, strategy sessions, and meetings with political leaders. More than 25 Ukrainian CSOs participated, discussing topics such as:

  • Ukraine’s Victory: Nordic interests and roles
  • Preparing for and preventing future russian aggression
  • Strategy for russia’s withdrawal from the war: What does NOT constitute Ukraine’s victory?
  • How to lobby? Advocacy for CSOs
  • What is advocacy and how to do it?

Aasland and Deineko presented the UKRAINETT+ project to the summit participants and contributed to the development of a national advocacy strategy for supporting Ukraine in Norway. They emphasized the role of universities and research as important elements in Ukraine’s future rebuilding efforts.
