with Bohdana Neborak and Uilleam Blacker
moderated by Ingunn Lunde.

WHEN: Wednesday 15 October, 19.00–20.00

Cultural diversity is a defining feature of Ukraine and viewed by many as a major source of the Ukrainian people’s remarkable resilience in Russia’s ongoing aggression.

In this conversation, Bohdana Neborak and Uilleam Blacker explore the multicultural borderlands and historical layers that make up the modern Ukrainian state. By discussing literary works that reflect Ukraine’s cultural diversity, they challenge prevailing myths and highlight the increasing visibility and vibrancy of Ukraine’s diverse cultural, linguistic and literary traditions.

Bohdana Neborak is a journalist, editor and curator based in Kyiv

Uilleam Blacker is associate professor of Ukrainian and East European Culture at UCL (London) and a literary translator from Ukrainian

Ingunn Lunde is professor of Russian at the University of Bergen
