Symposium at the Faculty of Law, University of Bergen
On 28 February 2022, on the fifth day of Ukraine’s resistance to Russia’s full-scale attack, Ukraine submitted its EU membership application. On 24 June, the European Council adopted a decision to grant Ukraine candidate status. This symposium addresses the path to this new stage in EU-Ukraine relations and Ukraine’s further European integration.
The key themes are:
- Implementation and the future of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement,
- Perspectives on Ukraine’s EU membership application,
- Approximation of laws on the way to European integration,
- Experience of the EU integration – Eastern Enlargement of 2004.
Symposium will feature speakers on the EU-Ukraine and EU’s external relations, both from academia and public institutions in the EU/EEA and Ukraine. The symposium is open to all interested and will also be streamed online.
