Title: Meta-analysis of pro-environmental behavioral interventions – assumptions & initial findings
Presenter: Jakub Krawiec, SWPS University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Warsaw, Poland
Program: Over the past two decades, there has been increased research interest in the use of behavioral interventions, understood as “interventions that do not involve economic (dis)incentives and regulations— holding all other factors constant”. Much of this interest was generated by the publication of the nudging concept in book form in 2008 by Richard Thaler and Cass Sunstein. One domain in which the use of behavioral interventions may be particularly needed is the area of pro-environmental behavior. As recent meta-analyses in this area have not been conducted in sufficient detail (Mertens et al., 2021), this project seeks to collect and summarize data on the effectiveness of behavioral interventions in the domain of pro-environmental behavior. An additional goal is to develop recommendations and instructions that could be implemented by individuals working in the public policy or CSR sector.
