NEW GRANT FOR 2021
Section for Human Rights, Democracy and Gender Equality in the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has given JMIC (Journalism & Media International Center) a new grant of NOK 5 million to continue the work to strengthen institutions for freedom of expression and democracy in countries in the south.
Bangladeshi photojournalist Shahidul Alam receives the annual award of Committee to Protect Journalists 19 November.
Three photojournalist students who graduated in June 2020 have received Fritt Ord Student Grant. All three will continue working on their individual photographic projects which they started and developed during the International Documentary Course in Nepal in February-March.

In this week’s four day session on Peace Journalism with Afghan editors and journalists, the highlight was Thursday, when we had invited Dr. Saumava Mitra from Dublin University as well as director of Afghanistan Photographers Association .
