Siri Krogh Nordby is a MASCOT PhD candidate. The overarching goal of her PhD project is to gain insight into how Computational thinking (CT) is understood, introduced, and integrated in the early years of teaching in mathematics, including its application to school curricula and pedagogical activities. Her approach is design-based research. She has followed four primary school teachers over a period of one year. Two of the teachers have been followed for an additional nine-month period.

Siri’s project aims to contribute to an understanding of how CT is understood by teachers, and how CT is used in the teaching and learning of primary mathematics.

Later on this spring Siri will be visiting Western University in Ontario, Canada as a visiting scholar.
